A beautiful place run by beautiful people placed on the idyllic hills by Carbis Bay.

Warm, clean and a great breakfast! Excellent view of the sea from the window and it's only a short walk down to the beach.

Margaret and Martin go out of their way to help, and give some great tips on the area! Wonderful stay! Will visit again :)

...Borthalan House is just a three minute walk to Carbis Bay train station where you can get a train to St Ives for £1.00. Carbis Bay beach is easily accessible and you can even follow the walking coastal route to St Ives which takes half an hour.

I could not recommend this place enough especially given the hospitality and friendliness of the owners. We know where to stay next time we come to visit Cornwall! Free parking at the hotel...

Perfect stay: Stayed here for the October half term with my wife and I could not fault our stay. Hosts went out of their way to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed.

Breakfast was exquisite and the room with a sea view was absolutely gorgeous. Incredibly pleased with our stay, the hotel is not far from anything and the hosts knowledge of the area and suggestions of all the hidden little gems (cafe’s, art shops etc) was extra helpful.

Definitely would recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Borthalan Hotel. The location was perfect, as soon as we arrived we were greeted with a breathtaking sea view and although we didn't pay for a sea view there was a wonderful view out the front with some chairs & table. The train station was a 2 min walk and we caught this into St Ives a few times which was a 4min journey for £1. We also walked it some days it was about 30-40 mins but a beautiful coastal walk. I will say there are lots of hills which were tough on day one but I was used to them by the end of the trip... This was our first trip away during Covid and we felt very safe...

I would visit here again.
